1. Readers shall enter their names and address legibly in a register available in front of the counter. 2. Books can be taken out from the Library only on the borrowing Ticket System. Books will be lent out on loan to members only, in exchange for one of his/her tickets. 3. To get enrolled as a member of the University Library, a person should make an application in the prescribed form to the University Librarian. Necessary membership tickets will be issued as indicated below after scrutiny. Categories No. of Books a) Officers of the University - 4 b) Faculty - 10 c) Ph.D Scholars - 5 d) PG & M.Phil. – Students - 3 e) Administrative & other Staff Members - 1 4. Readers should not write upon, damage or make any mark upon any book / periodicals. 5. Silence shall be strictly observed in the Library. 6. Readers shall be responsible for any damage or injury done to the books / Periodicals or other property of library. 7. Marking or underlining etc., is absolutely forbidden. 8. Before leaving the counter the member must satisfy himself / herself as to whether the book lent to him / her is in a good condition and if not, the reader must bring the notice of the librarian or the library staff member immediately. Otherwise, he/she is held responsible for the replacement of the book. 9. Maximum permissible period on loan the University Library Books/holdings shall be as follows: 1. Books – 14 days 2. Bound Volumes & Others – 7 days 10. Borrowed books must be returned on or before the due date. 11. If Borrowed books are not returned within the due date, an overdue charge of Re.1/-per day per book shall be levied. 12. Borrowed books can be renewed only on the due date for a further period of loan, if there is no other request for the same book. 13. Renewal of borrowed books shall be done only on the physical production of book(s) at the Library Counter. No renewal will be allowed for bound volumes of periodicals. 14. The books(s) borrowed from the University Library are neither transferable to any other member; nor shall any member borrow book(s) on other members’ ticket(s). 15. At the discretion of the University Librarian, any book loaned to any member can be called back without any reasons thereof. 16. Readers/members are requested to report immediately to the University Librarian in any cases of losses of borrowed Library books. The actual value of the book lost with the percentage of 10% on the Value of the book with the forwarding charges if any incurred by the University during the acquisition of the book along with the overdue charges if any, will be recovered from the member by the University Librarian. 17. If a member loses his/her borrower’s tickets, he/she should immediately report it to the University Librarian in writing. In the meanwhile he/she should make all efforts to trace the ticket(s) so lost and send a second report at the end of the period (15 days) stating the result of his endeavor. Duplicate ticket(s) will be issued at the discretion of the Librarian at the cost of Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only per ticket). 18. Duplicate ticket(s) will be issued for the damaged ticket(s) on payment of Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only) per ticket. 19. Readers are requested to observe the Library rules prescribed in order to keep the Library purposeful. 20. Members who disregard the Library rules are liable for the appropriate disciplinary action by the University.
