PLANNING BOARD

Introductory Remarks by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor:

• Initiation of Faculty lectures programmes.
• Creation of Faculty training programme for College teachers.
• Best teacher award for the college teachers to tune of Rs.10,000 per award.
• UGC Net coaching classes for students.
• Pro active discussion on New National Education Policy.
• Creation of concurrent audit in the Finance Office to review and clearing of audit objection.
• Digitalization of records in the University section.
• In the end, Vice Chancellor informed about the Marching of Periyar University in NIRF Ranking from 90th rank to 68th rank and steps taken for NAAC Reaccreditation.

RESOLUTIONS

The members of the Planning Board unanimously resolved to recommend the following resolutions for furtherance:

• Resolved to implement Curriculum with Outcome Based Education and revised Question paper pattern for University departments in the academic year 2019-20 and planning to implement the same for affiliated colleges in the forthcoming years
• Resolved to motivate the Faculty members to apply for funded research projects and research publications in Scopus indexed journals
• Resolved to appoint adjunct faculty members and to invite residence scholars from foreign Universities
• Resolved to establish the following departments and Centres in Periyar University: Department of Forensic Science and Cyber Security, Department of Data Sciences, Department of Public Health and Community Welfare and Department of Optometry. Centres: Centre for Biomedical research, Institute for Skill Development
• Resolved to organize workshop for research scholars on conceptual frame work, Industrial linkage and scientific righting
• Resolved to establish science park and seminar hall through mobilizing the funds from JSW, Sanmar and India Cements companies
• Resolved to create Sports tracks for the conduct of National and International events
