Periyar University Health Centre has been operating since 2010,with 4 observation beds. Health centre Functioning with one doctor and one full time staff nurse to attend the patients. On an average, more than twenty outpatients and two or more Emergencies on daily basis, are being given treatment.

Services given:

• Emergency medical aid/first aid
• General outpatient care
• Wound care and suturing
• Diabetes and hypertension screening & management

Investigations:

• Hemoglobin
• Blood sugar
• Blood pressure
• ECG
• Height, weight, BMI measurements

MEDICINES:

• All emergency injections, oxygen cylinders, nebulizers, iv fluids, commonly needed syrups, tablets, ointments.

Other Activities:

• Conducting 3-4 medical specialists camps like gynecology, dermatology, dental, Opthal, physiotherapy etc,every year.
• And also,blood donation camps where 50+volunteers participated including staffs and students donated blood to government hospitals.
• In future, planning to conduct more awareness programmes’ more specialty camps and include routine checkups for all of our periyar university members to upgrade our medical service.
