ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

International Conference on Discrete Mathematics (ICDM) is being organized in India periodically to promote research in Discrete Mathematics by bringing together leading researchers in Discrete Mathematics around the world. The First ICDM was organized in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, during 2006, the Second ICDM was organized in Mysore University, during 2008, the Third ICDM was organized in Karnatak University, Dharwad, during 2013 and the Fourth ICDM was organized in Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Thumkur, during 2016. In this series, the Fifth ICDM is proposed to be held at Periyar University, Salem, during Jan 4-7, 2018. This conference is organized in honor of Prof. R. Balakrishnan, Adjunct Professor, Bharathidasan University, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India, who is turning 80 during this year.

In recent times, Discrete Mathematics has grown into a major area of Mathematics with applications in a wide variety of fields: Computer Science, Coding Theory, Cryptography, Electrical Engineering, Sociology, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics etc. In the proposed conference, we have invited leading discrete mathematicians across several nations for lectures and interactive discussions. The academic program of the conference will consist of plenary talks, invited talks and paper/poster presentations. The lectures may be either comprehensive surveys or talks based on original research.
