NETWORK ARCHITECTURE

  • The University has extended the facility of Local Area Network and Wi-Fi Internet Connection to all the Sections, Departments and Offices in Periyar University. The three tier system consists of Core, Distribution and Edge Switches has been implemented.
  • The 1Gbps internet connectivity is provided by MHRD under NME-ICT scheme through BSNL made available to all Teaching Faculty, Administrative staff members, Research Scholars and Students. The University has RFS 4000 Series Hardware Controller for maintaining the AP 622 Indoor and AP 6562 Outdoor Wi-Fi Access Point.
  • The entired wired (Local Area Connection) and wireless (Wi-fi) Network of Periyar University is monitored by Sonicwall E5600 series Firewall for Internet Security.
